Hiking in the Kováčov Hills
The Kováčov Hills are a popular destination for lovers of nature, hiking, and rare flora and fauna. This area is known for its unique natural value and beautiful views of the Danube and its surroundings.
An interesting destination is the ascent to Burda Hill (388 m above sea level), which offers a pleasant small adventure. Although there is no marked hiking trail leading directly to the summit, the route from Kamenica nad Hronom along the red trail leads to the edge of the Kováčov Hills – South National Nature Reserve. Along the way, beautiful panoramic views open up over the Danube and its confluence with the Hron River.
The educational trail is accessible from the villages of Kamenica nad Hronom and Kováčov. After turning onto the blue hiking trail, the route descends through Veľká dolina towards Chľaba, where you can also see wine cellars that are more than 300 years old.
